And also, if done correctly, it will not effect your rounds one iota. HiViz recommended this (and even included the screws with the sight), and Remington didn't have a problem with it either.as long as it was done correctly. Many folks have been doing this for decades, with nary a problem. And the fact that I will need to "grind" the threads flush with the inside of the barrel does not bother me as well. The fact of drilling through the barrel does not bother me one bit. That is the ONLY REASON I am not drilling through the barrel. Why? Because there is always the CHANCE that I may get a wild hair and decide to thread the barrel for a choke. Secondly.I am heeding your advice about NOT drilling completly through the barrel. But many folks swear by it, and Brownell sells it for a reason. This elasticity is supposed to take the shock of fired rounds without having the front sights "crack" loose. First.the Black Max is supposed to have some elastomiters (elasticity) to it.
